Passengers are encouraged to arrive 90 minutes before their flight departure time, given the increased traffic for Easter.

Cork Airport is set to see a bumper Easter bank holiday weekend, with more than 65,000 people expected to travel through the terminal. Today is likely to be the busiest for arrivals and departures.

The weekend follows the start of the busy summer schedule, with thousands flying in from Britain, Europe, and further afield to enjoy the Easter break in Cork and across the South of Ireland, while many locals are expected to take the opportunity to fly to warmer destinations.

Niall MacCarthy, managing director at Cork Airport, said Easter is considered “a great kickoff” to its busiest season.

“It’s fantastic to see so many people choosing to fly with us again this year,” said Mr MacCarthy.

“We’re expecting a lively weekend, with strong demand for sunshine breaks and a big wave of visitors coming in from the UK.

"We encourage passengers this weekend to arrive 90 minutes before flight departure time, given the increased traffic with Easter season,” he said.
