‘The Dubliners Encore’ to grace the stage of the Cork Opera House

Created by John Sheahan and his daughter Ceoladh, ‘The Dubliners Encore’ is coming to Cork Opera House on April 6. Picture: Jason Clarke.

The stage show celebrating Irish folk band The Dubliners is set to visit Cork next month as part of its national tour.

The Dubliners Encore, created and produced by original Dubliner John Sheahan and his daughter Ceoladh Sheahan, is being presented at nine Irish venues in April, including Cork Opera House.

The production follows the journey of the five-piece ensemble, with cast members performing some of their greatest hits, including The Wild Rover, Seven Drunken Nights, and Whiskey in the Jar.

Ms Sheahan said having spent two years creating the show with her father that “authentically captures The Dubliners’ story”, the reaction from audiences has been “incredible”.

“Sold-out shows, standing ovations, and a roller coaster of audience emotions – from tears to laughter and everything in between – has been music to our ears,” said Ms Sheahan.

“Audiences want more Irish dates, in more locations, so we are delighted to bring the show back home this April.”

Tickets for the Cork Opera House show, on April 6 from 8pm, are priced from €35 and are available https://www.corkoperahouse.ie.
