Following the release last November of Spellbinding, their first new single in almost four decades, iconic Cork band Cypress, Mine! will play at the Crane Lane on Saturday, February 14.

Ahead of the gig, the band has released another single, Safe Highway, from their eagerly anticipated forthcoming album, Pulling All the Clouds Apart, due out next month.

Safe Highway is a song based on a poem by Seán Ó Tuama, called Siúlóid in Éirinn.

Orginally formed in 1984, Cypress, Mine! became a popular favourite on the Cork and Irish music scene with Ciarán Ó Tuama (vocals), Ian Olney (guitar), Denis O’Mullane (bass), and Mark Healy (drums).

During the 1980s, the band performed alongside well known acts, including U2, Echo and the Bunnymen, and The Smiths.

The current iteration of Cypress, Mine! sees Mark Healy switching to bass, with Morty McCarthy, of The Sultans of Ping, joining on the drums.
