A teenager has been taken to hospital following an e-scooter collision in Cork city.

The incident, involving one singular male on an e-scooter, occurred last night at approximately 9.40pm on Fairfield Avenue in Farranree.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said the teenager was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of “serious injuries”.

“A male teenager came off an e-scooter on which he was travelling on Fairfield Avenue at approximately 9:40pm,” the spokesperson said.

“He was brought to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.” 

The spokesperson further said that the scene remains closed this morning pending a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
