Uisce Éireann is urging the public to help protect against burst water pipes

As temperatures drop, Cork City Council have advised that burst water mains may cause disruptions in a number of areas in Cork city.

Repairs to a burst water main may cause supply disruptions to Magazine Road and surrounding areas in the city

Works are scheduled to take place on the burst mains until 2pm today, January 5.

Repairs to a burst water main may also cause supply disruptions to Clarke's Road, Ballyphehane and surrounding areas in Cork City.

Works are scheduled to take place in this area until 4pm today.

The local authority has advised that traffic issues may occur in the area as a result of works to restore the water supply.

Cork City Council have recommended that persons allow for around 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for water supply to fully return.

On the northside repairs to a burst water main may cause supply disruptions to Murmount Lawn, Montenotte and surrounding areas in Cork City.

A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of these works.

Works are scheduled to take place until 6pm on 3 January.

As temperatures fall below zero, Uisce Éireann is reminding people in Cork to protect their water pipes from the freezing weather.

In the coming days, meter installation works in operation today may also affect supply to South Douglas Road, Half Moon Lane, Kilcolman Lawn, Palaceanne Lawn, Palaceanne Court, Heatherton, Heatherton Park, Greenhills Estate, Greenhills Court, Berkeley Court, The Stables, Cuasnog, Skenahore, Glencurrig, Ashdene, Alderwood, Moss Lane, Ashwood, Riverway, Spring Road, Green View, Ivy Crescent, Mount Vernon Crescent, Trabeg Lawn, Ballincurrig Court, Willow Park, Hillgrove Lawn, Woodlawn, Glen View, Willow Dale, Willow Court, Woodgrove, Loreta Park, Cross Douglas Road, Rosepark, Ashdale Park, Rosebank, Orchard Close, Ballincurring Park, Rathmore Lawn, Rhodaville Estate, Tramore Lawn, Dunmahon, Belevdere Lawn, Mahon Avenue, Trabeg Avenue, Clermont Avenue, Summerville, Riverbank, Well Road, Douglas Hall Lawn, Woodview, Endsleigh Park, Endsleigh Estate, The Willows, Eglantine Park, Briairwood, Woolhara Park, Knockrea Park and surrounding areas in Cork City.

Works are scheduled to take place from 11:30pm on 7 January until 3:30am on 8 January.

A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of these works.
