Jessica Glavin, Natalee Monaghan, and Christine Twohig of Austen & Blake jewellery store mark the company’s first year in business in Cork city centre just before Christmas.

A Cork jewellery store that specialises in custom pieces celebrated its first year in business just before Christmas.

British chain Austen & Blake, which also has stores in Dublin and Belfast, opened its Cork outlet at 22 Patrick Street, on the corner of Winthrop St, in December 2024 and recently marked its first anniversary with a celebration in store.

A spokesperson said the business has enjoyed helping Cork people to mark special occasions and significant life events over the past 12 months, and it has been welcomed by staff of neighbouring retailers.

“This month marks a special milestone for Austen & Blake as we celebrate our first year in the heart of Cork city centre,” they told The Echo.

“From the beginning, our focus has been on creating jewellery to order, designed and crafted specifically for the person who will wear it. Every piece begins with a conversation and is finished with expert workmanship.

“We’re proud to work closely with our clients, transforming personal stories and sentiments into jewellery that feels truly their own.”

The spokesperson added that Cork is the perfect location for their store.

“The city’s character and strong sense of community encapsulate our own desires as a business."

“Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of meeting people at significant moments in their lives, from engagements and anniversaries to personal celebrations and commissions made simply for the love of a good design.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported us in our first year — our clients who trusted us, our neighbouring businesses, and the Cork community who welcomed us. Thank you for being part of our first year.

“As we move into our second year, our commitment remains unchanged.

“We look forward to creating many more meaningful pieces with you.”
