The late Joe Corbett. A tribute concert will be held in his memory at Cork Opera House on Saturday, May 9.

A tribute concert will take place at the Cork Opera House in May celebrating the memory of the late Cork-born baritone, opera singer, and musical theatre performer Joe Corbett.

Joe Corbett: A Celebration will take place on Saturday, May 9, with all proceeds from the concert going to the Irish Cancer Society.

Joe Corbett was born and grew up in Cork. He studied singing at CIT Cork School of Music, the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

The Cork Opera House concert will celebrate the life and career of Mr Corbett, who passed away in July of this year.

Compered by Evelyn Grant, it will feature some of Cork’s best known singers, led by sopranos Majella Cullagh and Mary Hegarty, remembering the popular singer with a collection of songs and memories.
