Cork City Football Club has chosen the Irish children’s hospice charity LauraLynn to advertise for free on the newly acquired billboards by the football club outside Turner’s Cross stadium.

The LauraLynn ad campaign will run from now until Friday, January 2, with the opportunity coming about as Cork City invited charities to enter a competition for a two week free ad campaign on 48 inch billboards.

The initiative is part of an ongoing commitment by the football club to supporting charitable causes, which include partner organisation The Crann Centre and other causes such as Feed Cork, UNICEF and the opening of their new community kit room.

LauraLynn is Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice and provides hospice and palliative care to children and their families all across the country.

Care can be delivered in their purpose built hospice in Dublin, in the community or in the home through the provision of their community teams which operate hubs from Mallow in Cork servicing Munster and one in Ballinasloe servicing families in the West.

Anthony O’Sullivan, commercial manager at Cork City FC said that everyone at the club is delighted to be able to support a charity like LauraLynn.

“We hope the advertisements will bring to light the invaluable service that they provide to children and families across Ireland and help them to receive continued support from the Irish population that is always known for their giving.

“We would like to wish everyone at LauraLynn, patients, families and their incredible team, a very Happy Christmas from Cork City FC.”

Elaine Buckley, regional fundraiser at LauraLynn added: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Cork City FC for this incredible opportunity.

“Creating awareness of our brand and services is vital to securing support and raising awareness for the specialist services we provide to children and families across Cork but also across all counties. We are extremely grateful for this opportunity.’’
