Food writer Kate Ryan has been shortlisted in two categories at the Irish Food Writing Awards for features she wrote for The Echo.

Now in their fifth year, the awards aim to acknowledge the highest achievements in books, journalism, restaurant critiques, feature writing, recipe writing, photography, podcasts and social media on Irish food and drink.

Kate is shortlisted for the Best Writing on Sustainability in Irish Food and Drink category and for the Writing on Irish Food Producers Award.

Mary Corcoran, WoW editor at The Echo, congratulated Kate on being shortlisted for the awards.

“We’re delighted to see Kate included in the shortlist and to see that she has been recognised for her wonderful writing.

“Kate’s monthly WoW Bites feature and her stories around food production and sustainability for The Echo shine a spotlight on incredible people and businesses the length and breadth of Cork.”

Earlier this year, Kate Ryan was named as a finalist for Best Sustainability Journalist at The Local Ireland Media Awards for her writing in The Echo.
