While the road is not closed at this time, motorists are advised to slow down and be cautious while driving in the area.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of multiple collisions in the Carrigaline and Ringaskiddy area.

The incidents are understood to have occurred on the Ringaskiddy Road as a result of what is believed to be a spill of a “hazardous substance".

Speaking to The Echo, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said that no injuries have been reported in relation to these incidents.

“Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a number of collisions that occurred in the Carrigaline and Ringaskiddy area of Cork this morning,” the spokesperson said.

“A hazardous substance is believed to have been spilled on the road.” 

The spokesperson further said that while the road is not closed at this time, motorists are advised to slow down and be cautious while driving in the area.

They additionally said that as this is an ongoing incident, no further information is available.
