Tomorrow will see thousands of runners and walkers descend on the Marina to take part in The Echo Women’s Mini Marathon 2025.
Now in its 44th year, the event is hosted by Cork Athletics and will feature a new 6km route, utilising the newly opened Marina Walk as part of the brand-new course.
This year, the 6k course (3.73 Miles) begins at 1pm, by Goulding’s on Centre Park Road, a change from the Kennedy Quay start that we saw at the event over the last couple of years.
The wheelchair participants will start at 12.45pm, 15 minutes ahead of the main field and will be followed by runners, walkers and buggy walkers shortly after.
The course heads east along Centre Park Road towards the Marina, passing the 1km mark near the Live at the Marquee venue.
It then veers right, along the newly redeveloped Marina, passing the 2km mark close to Holland Park, onto Blackrock Village, and continuing to Monahan Road from which it will be plain sailing from there to the finish line at Kennedy Park.
Online registration for the annual event is still open at https://www.echolive.ie/minimarathon/, and will be available until 11am tomorrow.
If you are unable to enter online, you can register at the Race HQ in the Marina Market’s Graffiti Room today (Saturday) between 2pm and 5.30 pm, and on Sunday between 10am and 12 noon.
Prices are €25 for adult entry and €10 for juvenile entry (aged between 8 and 16 on September 21, 2025) using the online system.
Anybody that registers at the Race HQ will be charged €30 for adults.
Juvenile prices will remain at €10.
A bag drop facility will be available on the day at Race HQ from Saturday 2pm to 5.30pm, and on Sunday 10am-12pm.
Forgotten or lost race numbers can be replaced at the cost of €5 on the day in the Graffiti Room.
Following a great success in 2024, a charity meet-up event will also take place on the day ahead of the race in the Marina Market.
