Cork's punk poets Wasps vs Humans to launch new single at Fred Zeppelins

Cork punk poets Wasps vs Humans will release their new single, Death Chamber Visits, at a launch show in Fred Zeppelins on Friday night with an exclusive screening of the single’s video, before it goes public.

Special guests for the evening are bilingual electronic hip/hop duo, shelovescalpol (SLC), featuring published poet Julie Goo and Tir Na gCasta DJ and producer Mike Millis.

Initially a solo project, Wasps vs Humans’ Carl Antony Plover has opened for the likes of John Cooper Clarke, Whipping Boy, and Mark E Smith’s The Fall.

As a musician, he has released an album and single with 80s Avant Garde band 4,000,000 Telephones.

He has received critical acclaim in the British national press, making the playlist on BBC Radio’s John Peel Show.

With Carl Anthony Plover now partnered up with musician wife Linda, Wasps vs Humans have honed a distinctive punk/folk sound over the last 18 months.

Wasps vs Humans play Fred Zeppelins tonight.

Doors open at 8.30pm, €12 plus booking fee.
