Overnight water disruption warning for Cork city suburbs next week

Uisce Éireann said it recommended that the public should allow two three to four hours after the estimated restoration time for water supply to fully return.

Part of Cork city’s southside suburbs may suffer overnight water supply disruptions next Wednesday, Uisce Éireann has warned.

The water utility company said essential maintenance works are scheduled to begin next Wednesday evening, August 6, starting at 9.30pm and running until 00.30am on August7.

Uisce Éireann warned that there is likely to be some disruption to local water supplies as a result of the works.

According to the company, the works, which are part of its National Leakage Reduction Programme, may cause supply disruptions to Vicars Court, Vicars Road, Rose Lawn, Togher Road, Michael Fitzgerald Road, Charles Daly Road, The Acre, Marie Ville, Sarahville Place, Connolly Green, McDonagh Road, Kileenreendowney Avenue, Fr Dominic Road North, Pearse Place, Plunkett Road, Edward Walsh Road, Patrick Trahy Road, Patrick O'Donoghue Place, Ardmanning Road, Pouladuff Road and surrounding areas in Cork city.

A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works.

Uisce Éireann said it recommended that the public should allow two three to four hours after the estimated restoration time for water supply to fully return.
