Four Cork food products get three Great Taste stars

Among the winners was the Toons Bridge Dairy Greek Style Buffalo Milk Cheese.

Four Cork food products have been awarded three stars in the prestigious international Great Taste awards.

Among the Cork winners were Blossom Honey, which is produced by Blackwater Honey in North Cork; and Toons Bridge Dairy Greek Style Buffalo Milk Cheese, which comes from the mid Cork-based dairy.

Cork company Musgrave Retail Partners were credited two three-star awards.

One of Musgrave’s awards was for the Signature Tastes Smoked Rack of Bacon, while the other three-star ranking was for the SuperValu Smoked Thick Cut Rashers.

Among the rebel county products to receive a two-star ranking were Durrus Óg Cheese; Glenilen Farm Unsweetened Live Natural Yogurt, from Drimoleague; Heather Honey, from Blackwater Honey; Kimchi, produced by Skibbereen’s Cultured Food Company; and Sea Salt and Caramel Fudge, produced by Mella’s Fudge in Clonakilty, as well as Ogam Korean BBQ Sauce, from Kilnaglery, near Carrigaline.

Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland, which is headquartered in Cork, also had scores of products winning two stars under their Signature or SuperValu branding.

Ballyvourney Black Pudding, Ballymaloe Relish, BÓ Rua Farm Gold, along with Brazen No 32 Hot Sauce, Red Chilli Jam and Brazen No 70 Hot Sauce, all made in Glanmire, all won a single-star rating.
