Peter Lyall, who died in a house fire in Cork on Monday morning.

Funeral details have been announced for Peter Lyall, a former master brewer at the Franciscan Well brewery, who died in a house fire earlier this week.

Mr Lyall, who was 62, was pronounced dead at the scene after firefighters found him unresponsive in a burning two-storey terraced house in Ardcullen in Hollyhill in the early hours of Monday morning.

Mr Lyall, a master brewer who worked for more than two decades in the brewery, was described as a kind man, who was well-liked in the close-knit northside community.

His RIP.ie page said that Mr Lyall died unexpectedly at home with his dog Charlie, describing him as “beloved partner of Anna Neville, loving father of Sarah and Johann and much loved son of the late John and Edith.”

A removal will be held at O’ Connor Bros. Funeral Home, North Gate Bridge on Sunday July 27 from 2pm to 3pm, with prayers at 2.45pm.

The Requiem Mass will be held on Monday July 28 in St. Mary’s on The Hill Church, Knocknaheeny at 10am, and it will be live-streamed on www.mycondolences.ie. There will be a funeral afterwards to St. Mary’s Cemetery in Curraghkippane.
