Tickets for the Rebels’ Fanzone at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh for Sunday’s Cork and Tipperary All-Ireland senior hurling final have all been snapped up in just under three hours.
The free tickets became available at 7.30am on Thursday on the Cork GAA and Cork City Council websites and from Eventmaster.
A spokesperson for Cork City Council said 20,000 tickets had been made available on Thursday morning and they “flew”, metaphorically selling out by 10.30am.
“The tickets really flew online, and we’re really looking forward to a fantastic, family-friendly day out on Sunday,” the spokesperson said.
“The atmosphere will be brilliant, and it’ll be a great way for fans to watch the clash between Cork and Tipperary, with the match shown on big screens, and entertainment before and after the game.
“It’ll be an alcohol-free event, and under-16s must be accompanied by adults, and the gates will open at 2pm, ahead of the throw-in at 3.30pm.” They added that Cork City Council and Cork GAA were making every effort to ensure the best atmosphere possible at the home of hurling in Cork, with rebels everywhere cheering on Pat Ryan’s team in their efforts to bring Liam MacCarthy back to Leeside.
Tickets were limited to five per person, and a ticket transfer and cancellation window - including the ability to cancel or transfer some of your tickets - will be open until midnight on Saturday, July 19.
A limited number of match programmes will be on sale in the stadium on the day.
The Rebels’ Fanzone is a Cork City Council event supported by Cork GAA, with entertainment provided on the day by Cork’s Red FM.
Those requiring access closer to the stadium for wheelchair users or attendees with additional needs are asked to contact administrator.cork@gaa.ie.
