A driver in Cork has been arrested for exceeding the speed limit by more than 80km/h.

Gardaí from the West Cork Roads Policing Unit arrested the motorist in Crookstown after it was observed that they were travelling at a speed of 182km/h in a 100km/h zone.

In a post shared on social media yesterday, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said that the driver, who was operating a Lotus Emira, has been charged to court.

The vehicle was subsequently seized by Gardaí following the motorists’ arrest.
