Cork chamber choir MusiCórum will this weekend perform two concerts, in Crosshaven and UCC, with Mary Hegarty, soprano.

Conducted by Geoffrey Spratt, the chamber choir will perform Monteverdi’s Mass (in F) For Four Voices, SV 257, with first performances of Milo McCarthy’s new motet, Animam Meam Levavi, for solo soprano, cello, organ and mixed-voice choir.

The performance of the Mass will include two of Monteverdi’s solo motets ( Salve, O Regina and Exulta Filia) for soprano and continuo, with the internationally-renowned soprano, Mary Hegarty, who will be joined by cellist Hugh McCarthy and organist Thomas Doyle.

The first concert will be at 5pm on Saturday, May 24, at the Holy Trinity Church at Crosshaven, with admission at the door for €15, card or cash.

The second MusiCórum concert will take place at 7pm on Sunday, May 25, at the Honan Chapel at UCC, with tickets available via Eventbrite. Early booking advisable for this event.
