Cork’s Idah ‘cannot wait’ to play at Páirc Uí Chaoimh

Cork’s Adam Idah was joined by his Celtic FC teammates Liam Scales and club captain Callum McGregor for the launch of the inaugural Cork Super Cup. The eagerly anticipated match will see Celtic take on Cork City FC at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on July 8.

Speaking at the launch Adam Idah said he “cannot” wait to be playing back on home turf.

“It is amazing for me to be going back home as I haven’t played in Cork for so long. It is fantastic to be playing a game at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh where I used to go and watch hurling and football games when I was young,” he said. “It is going to be a fantastic day and I hope everyone comes along to see it.”

It is anticipated that the Cork Super Cup, a joint initiative between Cork GAA and sports marketing agency Druid Sport, will generate an estimated €6 million boost for the Leeside economy.

The winners will lift a specially commissioned Cork Super Cup trophy designed by former Cork GAA legend Ger McCarthy.
