25 new jobs as discount pharmacy chain set to open in Cork

Spanning 10,000 sq ft, the Mahon Point mega-store will bring 25 new jobs to the area, including three full-time pharmacist positions.

Discount pharmacy chain, Chemist Warehouse, is set to open its fourth Cork store this week, bringing more than 20 new jobs to the county.

The new shop, located at the Mahon Point Retail Park, will open to the public from May 2, joining the chain’s existing Leeside locations of Ballincollig, Mallow and Cornmarket Street.

Spanning 10,000 sq ft, the Mahon Point mega-store will bring 25 new jobs to the area, including three full-time pharmacist positions.

CEO of Chemist Warehouse Ireland, Colin Galligan said that the launch reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to expansion in Ireland, marking the chain’s thirteenth store nationwide.

“This new store is another exciting step in our journey to make healthcare more affordable, without compromising on quality or choice,” said Mr Galligan.

“We’re delighted to expand further in Cork and look forward to welcoming new customers to Mahon Point.” 

In celebration of the new store at Mahon Point, a grand opening event will take place on Friday from 12pm to 4pm.

The new store at Mahon Point Retail Park will be open seven days a week, with opening hours of 8.30am to 8pm Monday to Wednesday; 8.30am to 9pm on Thursdays and Fridays; 8.30am to 7pm on Saturdays and 10am to 6pm on Sundays.
