The festival is renowned for its engaging workshops, networking opportunities with industry professionals, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The festival’s 17th edition will feature a lineup of seminars, masterclasses, and workshops covering topics ranging from editing, casting, auditioning, cinematography, acting, and shorts, to feature, funding, distribution, score composition, regional filmmaking, and more.
Fringe events include live music, drama performances, book readings, a movie quiz, café screenings throughout the town, and free family entertainment.
This year, organisers received 533 submissions from 46 different countries, so judges are hard at work selecting the 150 entrants who will be showcased.
This year the festival’s guest of honour will be actor Domhnall Gleeson. An acclaimed and versatile actor in his own right, Domhnall Gleeson could be considered acting royalty, as he is the son of the multiple award winner Brendan Gleeson.
Domhnall Gleeson has captivated audiences with performances across film, television, and theatre.
Recently starring in Enda Walsh’s Medicine and HBO’s The White House Plumbers, his career spans films such as Star Wars, Ex Machina, Brooklyn, and The Revenant.
Known for his ability to embody complex characters, he has collaborated with some of the most celebrated directors and actors in the industry, and his performances have brought him recognition as one of the finest actors of his generation.
This year’s Fastnet Film Festival runs from Wednesday, May 21 to Sunday, May 25.
