Renowned Japanese pianist to play two Cork concerts

Music Network presents Japanese pianist Yukine Kuroki in MTU Cork School of Music on Saturday, March 8, and St Brendan’s Church, Bantry, on Sunday, March 9.

Globally renowned Japanese pianist Yukine Kuroki is coming to Cork next month to perform two concerts.

She will be performing on Saturday, March 8, at the MTU Cork School of Music, while on March 9 she will perform at St Brendan’s Church in Bantry.

A talented pianist who has rapidly risen to international acclaim, Yukine Kuroki was the winner of both the Liszt Utrecht and Dublin International Piano Competitions in 2022.

Ms Kuroki has performed all over the globe including sold-out debuts with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo New City Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra and Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra.

Ms Kuroki, who has played the piano since the age of three, first performed with an orchestra when she was just seven years old.

Her mastery of the instrument prompted leading Canadian pianist Janina Fialkowska to describe Ms Kuroki as “a true poet at the piano, who can make you cry with a single note”.
