PepsiCo Little Island have been described as the “gold standard” partner following a €10,000 donation to Field of Dreams at Down Syndrome Cork.

The company presented the charity with a cheque at an event recently, which saw service user Sean Coleman — who is also employed at PepsiCo — attend with friends and family members.

The funds will be used going forward to help the organisation continue to work with their members, through services such as speech and language therapy.

Speaking to The Echo, coordinator at Field of Dreams Debbie Kelleher said: “Donations of this size are of pretty high magnitude for us.

“Over the last two years we have seen a dip in fundraising and donations in general, so getting a donation like that from PepsiCo, words can’t describe it.

“took one of our graduates, Sean, on last year and it just means the world to him and his family to have him working out there. They really are an exemplary partner, they would be the gold standard.”
