A Cork influencer has launched a new project aimed at supporting a local mental health charity.

The project, which is a calendar entitled ‘Empowering You’, was created by internet personality, Sorcha O’Connor, in aid of the mental health charity, Jigsaw.

Having already worked with Jigsaw during the Miss Universe Ireland competition 2024, the Blarney woman said that she felt she wanted to do more for the organisation, driving her to come up with the calendar idea.

Pulling from the competition’s competitor pool, Ms O’Connor said she decided to reach out to a number of other models to help her bring her idea to fruition.

The calendar, sponsored by Karl Goodwin Motors, features images and inspirational quotes from each participating model, and is aimed at raising funds to help support the charity on a national scale.

“This is Jigsaw’s first ever calendar,” said Ms O’Connor.

“On each page, each of the girls give a bit of advice they would give their younger selves, some of them are really personal and heartfelt, which is really cute.

“The calendar is about empowering mental health and positivity — there needs to not be a stigma around it anymore, and I’m passionate about that.

“I’m in my 30s now, but when I was 13 or 14 years old and I needed to go to someone, there was no one around to help.

“There needs to be more talk about mental health — we need to get more financial backing behind Jigsaw to help get more services out there and to help people who might be struggling.”

The ‘Empowering You’ calendar, priced at €10, is available to purchase in-store at O’Leary’s SuperValu in Tower and at Centra in the Blarney filling station.
