Gardaí in Cork responded to what has been described as a disturbance at a house on the city’s northside just before lunchtime on New Year’s Day.

Gardaí attended the scene of the incident, which occurred in Sunday’s Well, just after 12.40pm on Wednesday afternoon.

They said that no injuries had been reported, and they were continuing their investigations of the incident.

While gardaí had been attending the scene earlier on Wednesday lunchtime, by 2pm there was no visible sign of a garda presence in the area.

A garda spokesperson said on Wednesday afternoon: “Gardaí responded to a disturbance at a private residence in Sunday’s Well, Cork city, shortly after 12.40pm today.

“No injuries have been reported at this time. Inquiries are ongoing.”
