All About Cork: Coláiste Éamann Rís becomes Ireland’s most haunted school

A local secondary school transformed into a house of horrors last week as part of an annual tradition that has gained global attention.

Coláiste Eamann Rís claims to be the most haunted school in Ireland - maybe the world.

Every Halloween, the school is transformed into a haunted house, thanks to tireless work from students, staff and volunteers.

The FearPark attraction, now in its eighth year, has gained global attention and news coverage, and even welcomed visitors from the US last week.

Last Wednesday, FearPark returned to Coláiste Eamann Rís much to the delight of the local community.

Speaking to The Echo, principal Aaron Wolfe said it was a “great night”.

“We had record crowds,” he said.

“Huge thanks to Aileen Kenefick and Aaron Delaney who helped run the event - 64 students and past pupils helped organise the event."

“It's become a great event in the community.

“Young Offender's star Demi Isaac Oviawe called in to give our young actors some advice before FearPark opened with an acting workshop,” he added.

Later in the week, a coach of American ghost hunters arrived at the school to conduct a paranormal investigation.
