The book, titled Farron’s Adventure, follows a mischievous Viking elf who is traversing through Ireland’s oldest city, during one of Adam’s favourite festivals, Winterval.

The story is a tale of an epic adventure filled with sheer determination and joyous optimism, as the ‘saving’ of Christmas sits firmly on Farron’s shoulders.

Funds raised through the sale of Farron’s Adventure will go towards the charity, Junior for Juniors, whose mission is to bring comfort and solace to young patients in the paediatric wards of University Hospital Waterford.

“I am so proud of this book — I can’t believe that I’m an author like my Dad,” said Adam.

“I love reading, and books are a big part of my life, I will really enjoy reading this book to my little sister Sarah and my younger cousins.”

Directors of Winterval, John Grubb and Trevor Darmody said: “It really is a joy to be involved in the publishing of Adam’s wonderful, fun-filled, festive adventure story.

“This is a book which celebrates friendship, community spirit and camaraderie.

“We want to wholeheartedly thank Adam for his kindness, generosity and charitable spirit in committing a great deal of time during his school holidays to write this gorgeous story.”

The book, illustrated by Dave Duffy, will be officially launched by Adam at The Book Centre in Waterford city on Saturday, November 9 at 1pm.
