Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following a serious assault in Ballincollig last week. 

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following a serious assault in Ballincollig last week. 

A garda spokesperson said gardaí are investigating an incident of assault which occurred in a residential area in Greenfields in Ballincollig on Wednesday, October 16 at approximately 7am.

A man and a woman, both aged in their 20s were conveyed to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries. 

Their condition is believed to be stable at this time, the spokesperson said. 

"Gardaí are appealing for information from any person present in the Tuarin Glas, Greenfields, Ballincollig area from 6am to 7.30am and any person that may have captured video footage including dash cam and mobile phone footage to make this available" the spokesperson said.
