The Metropole Hotel has been ranked among the 10% of restaurants worldwide by Tripadvisor.

A Cork restaurant has been named among the top 10% worldwide by Tripadvisor.

The Met Bar and Restaurant at the Metropole Hotel in Cork city was recognised by the travel website for the Travellers’ Choice Awards.

The restaurant scored a spot at the top thanks to their reviews, which were collected over a 12-month period.

Businesses with consistently strong reviews earn the Travellers’ Choice distinction for demonstrating a commitment to hospitality excellence.

The Travellers’ Choice Awards started in 2002 and showcase the best restaurants in multiple categories and regions based on real-life diners’ insights.

Director of food and beverage at Trigon Hotels, Pierce Lowney said: “Winning an award is always a lovely recognition of the hard work and dedication of our team but the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award is extra special as it’s based on our customer reviews.

“This shows that we are consistently serving high quality food by a very attentive team.

“I would like to thank Tripadvisor for this accolade and thank all our customers who left positive feedback on the website.” 

Among the reviews considered, one customer said: “Can’t recommend the place enough, staff were all extremely friendly and food was absolutely delicious.”
