Lidl has announced a new strategic partnership with Kerry Dairy Ireland to develop a new infant formula range under the retailer’s private label.
This will be Lidl Ireland’s first own-brand infant formula range, with the products manufactured at Kerry Dairy Ireland’s site in Charleville, Cork.
Kerry Dairy Ireland has been a partner of Lidl Ireland for more than two decades and this latest collaboration represents a new supply deal worth €2 million.
Tim Gault, the Commercial Director of Kerry Dairy Ireland said they were delighted to work with Lidl on the new product range.
“Kerry Dairy Ireland has been a strategic partner and supplier to Lidl Ireland for over 20 years and we’re proud to continue building on this partnership and working with the Lidl team to collaboratively deliver sustainable, innovative solutions with the expertise of our teams across research and development, consumer insights, food safety and manufacturing.
“As a world leader in sustainable nutrition, and as a household Irish brand, we’re delighted to work with Lidl to expertly develop this new product range.
“We’re also thrilled to secure a €2 million annual supply deal to bring the range to Lidl shoppers across the island of Ireland through Lidl’s extensive store network.”
Kevin Duffy, the Chief Commercial Officer of Lidl Ireland & Northern Ireland added, “At LidI we pride ourselves on providing quality products at market-leading value and we’re trusted by millions of customers every week who choose to shop with us.
“We’re very proud to launch our first own brand infant formula range and to do this in conjunction with our valued partner Kerry Dairy Ireland.
“We know that cost is a significant challenge for many parents choosing to include formula within their baby’s feeding routine.
“That’s why Lidl has developed its own-brand infant formula range, to offer parents greater choice and accessibility to infant milk and follow on milk at market-leading value.”
Lidl Ireland’s latest Supplier & Business Partner Impact Report, released earlier this year, found that more than €1.6 billion worth of goods and services were procured from Irish suppliers and business partners by the retailer in 2023.
A total of €1.1 billion worth of goods was procured from the Irish agri-food industry with €800 million staying within Lidl Ireland’s operations to be sold through its local store network and more than €300 million exported internationally through Lidl’s expansive network of stores showcasing the best of Irish produce on the global stage.
