Cork people urged to 'Make Some Noise' for mental health awareness

The viral music group, Kabin Crew, will be performing at this year’s #MakeSomeNoiseCork event at Dance Cork Firkin Crane.

The annual positive mental health event, Make Some Noise, is returning to Cork for a sixth consecutive year.

Shine A Light Suicide and Mental Health Awareness has announced that the event will take place this year on October 5 at the Smurfit Theatre at Dance Cork Firkin Crane.

Highlights from the night will include headline act, Myles Gaffney, alongside Liam Mullaney, who was instrumental in the inception of #MakeSomeNoiseCork in 2018.

Dots Tobin and Roger Ryan of August Walk will also make a welcome return to the stage, as well as rising star in the Cork music scene, Andrew Fletcher, who recently played Live at the Marquee with Glen Hansard.

The viral Kabin Crew will also be back for the event, bringing their boundless energy and talent to the stage.

Resources

The primary goal of the #MakeSomeNoiseCork event is to raise awareness about positive mental health and to direct people to local and national services and resources.

#MakeSomeNoiseCork is a major fundraising event for Shine A Light Suicide & Mental Health Awareness, with all funds raised being crucial for continuing to assist people in crisis.

Over the past six years, the event has grown significantly, helping many individuals by providing information and low-cost counselling services.

The organisation is encouraging the public to support this event, which also serves as a platform for showcasing local talent in Cork.

It is hosted in collaboration with Cork Kerry Community Healthcare (CKCH), who are the main sponsors of the fundraiser.

The event takes place on October 5 at 7.30pm, with doors opening to the public at 7pm.

Tickets for the #MakeSomeNoiseCork event are priced at €10.
