Status yellow rainfall warning issued for Cork tomorrow

Showers will move into southern and western areas of Ireland on Sunday evening and some will be heavy and thundery.

Met Éireann have this afternoon issued a status yellow rainfall warning for the whole of Ireland, with heavy rain expected to last from Sunday night to Monday morning.

Forecasters are warning that a band of heavy rain moving eastwards across the country on Sunday night and Monday morning, with thundery downpours possible.

Potential impacts include localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility, and the status yellow warning is valid from 10pm Sunday to 8am Monday.

The national forecaster advised that tomorrow morning and afternoon will be mostly dry with a mix of cloud and hazy sunny spells, although patches of light rain or drizzle are possible in the south and west.

Showers will move into southern and western areas of Ireland during the evening and some will be heavy and thundery.
