With Dublin’s Rhasidat Adeleke narrowly missing her podium opportunity at yesterday’s Olympic Games in Paris, today will see another shot for Ireland’s athletics team.

The 21-year-old Tallaght native claimed fourth place in the women’s 400m final, with a finishing time of 49.28, closely behind Poland’s Natalia Kaczmarek, who claimed the Bronze medal with a time of 48.98.

Kaczmarek was beaten out for Silver by Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser, and succeeded by the Dominican Republic’s Marileidy Paulino for Gold.

Team Ireland still has a chance at bagging an 8th medal for the tricolour today, with Cork’s Phil Healy returning to the track as a finalist.
