‘Rollercoaster’, a one-hour solo show by juggler Wes Peden, will play at Dance Firkin Crane on Saturday August 31.

The always popular Pitch’d Circus and Street Arts Festival returns to Cork for its seventh appearance, running for 10 days at the end of the month.

Running from Friday, August 23, to Sunday, September 1, the festival promises a great lineup of thrilling performances and circus acts.

Pitch’d Festival is the annual flourish of a hard-working team at Cork’s Circus Factory.

Circus Factory is now a key circus and street arts resource for education, training, performance artists and community from all levels and backgrounds.

This year’s festival is themed ‘Future-Proof’ and is all about looking forward, embracing innovation, and celebrating the vibrant world of contemporary circus arts.

Committed to inclusivity and community engagement, Pitch’d Festival offers a unique opportunity to experience the magic of circus in a modern way.

This year’s festival, the organisers say, will feature an exciting lineup of circus shows, street performances, and industry workshops, promising fun and entertainment for audiences of all ages.

One of the acts featured is Wes Peden, whose one-hour show ‘Rollercoaster’ will play Dance Firkin Crane on Saturday. August 31, featuring what is promised to be “ultra-modern, pop-punk juggling”.

Circus Reimagined: Film Night at The Pav, running on Tuesday, August 27, will be a circus-inspired film night created in collaboration with Ken Fanning of AkenEvilThing, co-founder of Tumble Circus, and local grassroot film festival IndieCork. Sunday, September 1, will see free circus street shows from midday till 5pm at AutumnFest on Douglas Street.

The festival organisers say they are committed to ensuring the festival is accessible for all, with information on its website, www.pitchdfestival.ie.

Pitch’d Circus & Street Arts Festival is funded by The Arts Council of Ireland, Cork City Council, Tomar Trust, and the Portugal embassy, and is partnered with Cork’s 96 FM.
