Following a triumphant day at the Olympic Games yesterday for Team Ireland, today’s line up of competitors includes a Cork rowing duo vying for a second Gold medal.

Paul O’Donovan of UCC Rowing Club and Fintan McCarthy of Skibbereen Rowing Club made history at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, where the pair won Ireland’s first ever rowing gold medal in the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls A Final.

The O'Donovan and McCarthy pair will revisit this feat today in Paris in the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls A Final, as the three-time and two-time Olympian duo take another stab at placing first on the honoured podium.

Also competing in the women’s lightweight double sculls A Final is another Cork two-time Olympic rowing duo, consisting of Aoife Casey and Margaret Cremen of UCC Rowing Club.
