Cork GAA and Cork City Council have this morning confirmed that a Rebels’ Fanzone will be set up at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday for the All Ireland Hurling Championship final.

The family-friendly event will see the clash between Cork and Clare shown on big screens, with entertainment from Cork’s RedFM before and after the game.

A spokesperson said that every effort will be made to ensure the best atmosphere possible at the home of hurling in Cork.

Pat Horgan, Chairperson of Cork GAA, said, “With demand for final tickets at an unprecedented level, unfortunately not everyone will be able to attend Croke Park next Sunday.

"We are grateful to the support of Cork City Council to facilitate the Rebels’ Fanzone, which will allow supporters of all ages an opportunity to come together, and support an incredible team on an incredible journey.”

Brian Geaney, Deputy Chief Executive of Cork City Council said, “Cork City Council and Cork GAA are delighted to host a fanzone event at Pairc Ui Chaoimh during next Sunday's All Ireland Hurling Final.

"There's huge excitement building across Cork and we're planning for an electric atmosphere at this free, family-friendly event at the home of Cork GAA".

The event will be fully ticketed, alcohol-free and u16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets will be free of charge, and available tomorrow, Tuesday, July 16, via Cork GAA’s website https://www.corkgaa.ie  and Cork City Council’s website www.corkcity.ie.

Cork GAA and Cork City Council are also preparing for the Rebels’ Return, a live event at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Monday, July 22.

Speaking about the event on Red FM Breakfast, KC said that he will be MC'ing the event on Monday and said they will be encouraging as many people as possible to attend.

Further details will be made available later in the week.
