Cork singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot has said he is excited to be back in “the best city in the world” to play Virgin Media Park.

Ducrot will take to the stage at around 9pm and play to a crowd of fans eagerly anticipating his return to Cork.

Raised in Cork, Ducrot studied music in London before moving back to Ireland to pursue his dream.

He rose to fame with his singles ‘All For You’ and ‘I’ll Be Waiting’, both of which gained popularity via TikTok where he became known for his pop-up performances featuring his own choir.

In April 2022, he released ‘All for You’ which became his first charting single, peaking at number 2 in Ireland and number 19 in the United Kingdom. That November he released ‘I'll Be Waiting’ which began climbing national charts in early 2023.

His debut studio album ‘Victory’ was released on August 4, 2023 and reached number 1 in Ireland.

Speaking to The Echo ahead of his gig at Virgin Media Park, he said he is “very excited” to play to a Cork crowd.

“I am very excited to be playing for a Cork crowd tonight. I can’t wait. Best city in the world,” he said.

I’m feeling so blessed and so grateful to have so much support in Cork. It’s going to be an amazing show so I can’t wait.

Speaking about the career he has carved out for himself from humble beginnings of busking and playing in local pubs to making his main-stage debut at Electric Picnic and now playing a sold-out gig at Virgin Media Park, he said: “To start out busking and playing the pubs, it’s insane to then end up here. So, it’s just such an amazing thing for me. It’s mind-blowing. I never really could fathom something like this.”

Cian Ducrot will take to the stage at Virgin Media Park at 9pm.
