A NEW trailer has been released for the upcoming Cork Opera House production of Summer Revels.

Inspired by the legendary Summer Revels that lit up Cork during the '70s and '80s, this new show within a show will take place from July 24 to August 11, and follows the story of a pompous director, a star diva, an accident prone clown, and a magician with a big idea.

The cast features an extensive line-up of experienced performers including London’s West End Claire O’Leary, fresh from her recent run in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new Wizard of Oz, as well as Cork theatre icons Declan Wolfe, from RTÉ’s The Den, Michael Sands, from The Young Offenders, and Trevor Ryan, from The Sound of Music.

Marie O’Donovan from Cork Adult Panto, Thérèse O’Sullivan from Elf The Musical, Alex Glennon from Disenchanted, and Fiona Kennedy from Sleeping Beauty will also feature, as well as Alison Arnopp of The Royal Shakespeare Company.

Joining the cast for this production will be emerging Cork artist, Precious Abimbola, who will be making her professional debut.

Lords of Strut’s Cormac Mohally, and magician Daniel Cremin will also feature in the cast line-up, with musical director Cathal Synnott leading a versatile band of Dylan Howe (Rowan), Patrick Lynch and Anastacia Beary.

The Summer Revels writers’ room also brings together Cork playwrights Katie Holly and John McCarthy with award-winning sketch and musical comedian Sally O’Leary as well as chart-topping I’m Grand Mam podcast presenter Kevin Twomey.

Tickets for the production range in price from €20 to €35, and are available on the Cork Opera House website.
