Latest: Long delays through Jack Lynch Tunnel following rush hour collision

Latest:
Gardaí are at the scene of the road traffic collision in the westbound bore in the Jack Lynch Tunnel between a car and a lorry that occurred this morning at 7.50am.
No injuries have been reported.
The westbound bore remains closed at this time.
Earlier:
Morning rush hour traffic has been brought to a standstill on the the N8, M8 and N25 following a collision at the Jack Lynch Tunnel.
In a post on X shortly before 8.30am Cork City Fire Brigade said that crews from Ballyvolane and Anglesea Street were dealing with a road traffic collision southbound in the tunnel.
“Avoid the area if possible,” they said.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) also posted on social media warning motorists to expect delays following the incident between J11-Dunkettle and J10-Mahon direction southbound.
