Cork camera group of retired teachers showcasing talents at Bishopstown exhibition

A group of 18 retired primary teachers who share an interest in photography is running an exhibition in Bishopstown this week.
The Retired Teachers' Association of Ireland (RTAI) Cork camera group, which was set up in 2016, meets once a month in the SMA centre in Wilton, under the guidance of their mentor Tony Tobin, who is a keen photographer.
As well as the monthly meetings, the group organises visits to various sites of interest, where members practice the skills they have been learning at the monthly meetings.
They have been developing their talents recently and launched the exhibition to showcase their captures at what is the group's second exhibition at Bishopstown Library.
The exhibition was opened on Thursday, March 7 by Denis Minihane who recently retired as staff photographer from The Echo and Irish Examiner publications.
Mr Minihane said he was impressed with the great variety of photographs featured in the exhibition with some imaginative and magical moments captured.
The exhibition will run daily at Bishopstown Library until Thursday, March 28.
The group has said they are very grateful to the SMA and to Bishopstown Library for facilitating the launch and the exhibition.
