New jobs announced as logistics firm opens second Cork location

CRANE Worldwide Logistics is to expand with a new facility in Cork.

The logistics firm currently operate from Fota Point Enterprise Park in Cobh but will soon open a second location in the Rebel County.

The new warehouse facility is located within Harbour Gate Business Park and is expected to open next month, according to a spokesperson for Crane Worldwide Logistics.

“We will be opening the facility in early March, with the expectation of about 30 additional roles by the end of 2024. It’s a fantastic addition to the Crane Worldwide network in Ireland, we are already well established in Cork but also Dublin and Shannon,” the spokesperson said.

The new Cork Warehouse will allow for easier access to Cork airport and Ringaskiddy Port, as the warehouse is in a prime real estate location for clients looking to expand their presence in Ireland.

Occupying 126,000 square footage, the Little Island warehouse will consist of six loading doors, twelve dock levellers, HGV Parking and will be built to NZEB standards (Nearly Zero Energy Building).

Crane Worldwide Logistics has experienced significant growth in Ireland and the new Cork warehouse will provide additional capacity to growing demands for integrated logistics services.

“The Irish team have been listed as finalists at the upcoming Irish Logistics and Transport Awards to be held on March 7th in Dublin. We are nominated for Employer of the Year and Freight Forwarder of the Year.” 

At the Irish Logistics and Transport Awards 2023, Crane Worldwide Ireland received the 3PL Achievement award for its tailor-made services to clients in need of 3PL operations in Ireland.

The previous year, the company was also recognised for its operational excellence during the COVID crisis, delivering essential equipment to hospitals throughout the country.

“We are particularly excited that Edith Denieffe, our Regional Director of Operations Excellence has been nominated for the Women in Transport and Logistics Award,” the logistics firm spokesperson has said.
