East Cork seaside village to host popular Talk the Talk podcast festival

THE inaugural Talk the Talk Podcast Festival will take place in Ballycotton from March 7 to 10 2024, with a host of well-known names performing live versions of their shows at popular venues including Sea Church and The Blackbird.
The line-up for Sea Church includes Limerick artist and author, Blindboy Boatclub, who will bring his eclectic The Blindboy Podcast; IFTA nominated actress Hilary Rose, known for her portrayal of Mairéad McSweeney in The Young Offenders, presenting her podcast Live Wild, along with a special guest; and Irish comedian, writer and actor, David McSavage, who will bring his podcast That’s Why We’re not Together.
Other highlights include Tales from the Pitch with Ciarán O’Rathallaigh and guest, as well as Hola, the podcast with Laura Cronin and Audrey Fitzhagan.
The Blackbird will play host to Real Lives Untold with Sarah O’Connor, and The Murphy’s Pubcast with Tony Kiernan and Fred Cooke.
The festival will also see a free workshop by renowned podcast company Acast.
Commenting on the upcoming Talk the Talk Podcast Festival, general manager of Sea Church John Kidney said: “Ballycotton has really been put on the map recently with unique and quirky events and the upcoming podcast festival is no exception.
“We expect a huge buzz in the village over these few days in March, as people celebrate some of Ireland’s most renowned podcasters, comedians and storytellers.
“We’re especially excited that Acast will host a workshop for aspiring podcast makers,” he added.
“It’s the icing on the cake for what promises to be a fantastic offering.
“We’re also hugely grateful to our partners Talk the Talk for helping us bring about this festival.”
