The Frank and Walters Band have been announced as Cork Persons of the Year 2023 at the 31st annual awards on Friday.

The gala lunch awards were held at the Metropole Hotel before an invited audience of 200 people representing all sectors of Cork life.

The renowned Cork-based band comprising lead vocal and bass player Paul Linehan, drummer Ashley Keating, lead guitarist Rory Murphy, and Cian Corbett on keyboards was crowned as the Cork Persons of the Year in recognition of the band's profound impact on Cork's cultural tapestry and the arts over their more than 30 year career.

Awards organiser Manus O’Callaghan commended The Frank and Walters Band on their win, saying: "Their win reflects not only their musical prowess but also their unwavering dedication to Cork's artistic scene.

“The Frank & Walters Band has played a pivotal role in making Cork the cultural hub that it is today."
