'Dedication and commitment' of Ballyphehane native recognised with award

THE longest serving member of the Cork Schoolboys League Committee has been announced as the latest winner of the Cork International Hotel Community Spirit Awards.
Donal Kelleher, who has been involved in the committee for almost 40 years, has been honoured with the award which recognises an outstanding contribution or special achievement made to the community by a group or individual.
Mr Kelleher is also the founder of the Kilreen Celtic soccer club, established in 1971.
The Ballyphehane native has served on the committee of Ballyphehane Community Association and was also centrally involved in Ballyphehane Meals on Wheels.
General manager of the Cork International Hotel, Eoghan Murphy, described Mr Kelleher as a "worthy recipient" of the award.
