A CORK-BASED inclusive arts initiative recently rounded out the year with a wellbeing workshop led by clinical psychologist Dr Eddie Murphy of RTÉ’s Operation Transformation.

The session, which focused on giving participants the tools they need to manage their wellbeing, was held at Suisha Inclusive Arts.

Suisha Inclusive Arts was established by Cope Foundation in 2014 and aims to enhance the lives of learners with disabilities in a social, creative and emotive way. It also acts as a stepping stone for them to progress to further education, employment, and community arts partnerships.

“The quality of the artists and the diversity of the art and the focus on the people truly following their passions was what really struck me,” Dr Murphy said following the event.

“I was impressed by the Suisha creative community where both artists and staff strive for true and meaningful work and are working through their passions. I am a big believer in people following their passions in life, because if you are engaged in your passions it leaves less space for negative emotions to come into your life.”
