Two Cork winners at annual Macra awards

FREEMOUNT Macra has been named the overall winners of the Macra Club of the Year at this year’s annual awards.

The long standing awards, which are sponsored by National Broadband Ireland, were held at the Macra Rally, which took place in the Shearwater Hotel, Galway, this year.

As part of the Club of the Year Competition, awards for Best New Macra Member are presented to an individual member in each region who joined the organisation between March 2022 and February 2023.

The winners are deemed by their club to have made a significant contribution to the development of the club during their first year of membership.

As well as Freemount Macra being named Munster Regional Winner, Marie Walsh from Kinsale Macra was named the Best New Member in Munster.

Macra National President Elaine Houlihan said: “Our clubs and our people, are our greatest asset, to see them display what they are capable of gives me great hope for Macra coming into its 80th year.”
