Cork's Kabin Studio to host 12-hour 'music jam' fundraiser for children in Gaza

THE Kabin Studio in Knocknaheeny will host a 12-hour ‘music jam’ fundraiser in support of children and families in Gaza from 2pm on Friday to 2am on Saturday. 

Organised and run by a collective of youth artists, music educators, and performers, the event is not just a fundraiser, it is also a demonstration of young local talent, initiative, and solidarity with those suffering in Palestine.

It aims to raise a minimum of €10,000 for UNICEF Ireland.

Featuring an exciting and diverse lineup of local artists, including Stevie G, Dylan Brickley, Rapha Olympio, Myles Gaffney, Tadhg Hickey, Citadel, Martin Leahy, and Ophelia, the stage will also be graced by teen groups Misneach, The Kabin Crew rappers, and young musicians from The Hut CDYS.

Garry McCarthy, creative director of the Kabin Studio, said: “The Kabin Studio has been working directly with MC Abdul and his family in Gaza since 2019. Over the past few weeks, we have seen how this war has displaced and traumatised them — leaving them living in fear”.

“As a community here in Cork, we are frustrated at how the international community is allowing this to happen”.
