ALMOST 250 people, who had accumulated a staggering 6,365 years of service at a Cork hospital, have been recognised for their services.

The Bon Secours Hospital Cork held a special celebration at the weekend to celebrate the long service of many of its staff members.

The event was the first Long Service Awards evening held since before the covid pandemic.

It commenced with a Mass of Thanksgiving in the Orangerie of the Maryborough Hotel, Douglas, followed by dinner and dancing in the Sherrard Suite.

Among those who received awards was Jacinta Mc Grath who celebrated 50 years of service.

Nine staff were recognised for 45 years of service, eight for 40 years, 24 for 35 years, 41 for 30 years, 50 for 25 years and 116 for 20 years service.
