Lifeboat launched to aid struggling wind surfer off Cork coast

Courtmacsherry lifeboat was tasked this afternoon

THE Courtmacsherry Lifeboat was tasked this afternoon after a wind surfer was spotted struggling to return to shore.

A member of the public raised the alarm at around 4.20pm after seeing him in difficulty off Wood Point.

The lifeboat was tasked and went to the man’s assistance.

However, the wind surfer managed to make it back to shore unaided and did not require medical attention.
