Drugs and cash seized by gardaí in two raids

Gardai have seized cannabis worth €40k and cash to the value of €120k during two separate raids in Cork.

The planned searches took place in the city on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of controlled substances here.

Gardai from the Divisional Drug Unit searched one house in Rochestown where they discovered cannabis herb with an approximate street value of €40k.

Two men in their 30s were arrested and were detained at Mayfield garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

During the search of another property in Carrigtwohill, approximately €120,000 cash was also seized.

Both men have been charged and are set to appear in court today.
